Scene Analysis.

This is a scene from the movie Creed , it is one of the more emotional scenes of the movie and the director uses different techniques to emphasise this. Firstly, the director uses close up shots of both of the characters faces. This adds emphasise to the emotion in the scene as we can clearly see from the expressions on their faces how they are feeling. In addition to this pop shots are used throughout the scene, this shows us the viewer what the character is seeing, and how, in their eyes they have a different perspective. This mirrors the dialogue in the scene. Bothe characters have a different take on how to deal with Rocky's cancer situation, this is a great addition to the scene. The 180 degree shot is used too, it allows us to get a clear view of the scene, and what each character is looking at. It feels natural and subtle in the scene. From the scene we can tell that the genre of movie is thriller, it is tense and emotional at the same time. In addition, the dialogue in the scene is well written and emphasises each characters thoughts and emotions It feels natural an not forced.  These overall add to make a great emotional scene, that gives the movie heart, rather than being a standard boxing movie. Finally, Steadicam is used. It is used as to make the scene feel more natural and tidy. In addition the shots are basic and not disorientating, this adds a level of comfort to the emotion of the scene, it also makes the scene seem more real. Watch the cli below.
